In a statement issued on Saturday, Mbah paid tribute to Ejeagha, describing him as a cultural treasure, a masterful storyteller, and one of Enugu’s most celebrated figures.
The governor also announced plans to immortalise the late musician, affirming that the state would take concrete steps to preserve his legacy for future generations.
The statement read, “I’m profoundly saddened by the death of the music icon, Gentleman Mike Ejeagha.
“Mike Ejeagha was a legend, a cultural ambassador, and a revered son of Enugu State. He was one of the finest musicians of his generation, with an easygoing personality and a humility that belied his towering celebrity status. His fan base transcended boundaries, and he was easily one of the most recognizable voices in music.
