The joint offensive targeted hideouts in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area, and the notorious Tumbuktu Triangle, a long-time insurgent sanctuary.
According to a post shared on the Nigerian Army’s Facebook page on Monday, the strikes resulted in heavy casualties among the terrorists, including their leaders.
Among those neutralised was Ameer Malam Jidda, a top Boko Haram/ISWAP commander known for orchestrating attacks from his bases in Ngorgore and Malumti Villages.
His death marks a significant blow to the group’s command structure in the region.
