Sowunmi, a prominent critic of Tinubu and former spokesman for Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections, had over the weekend paid a surprise visit to the president at his Lagos residence a move that stirred backlash online.
The heat followed him to TVC on Tuesday, where he appeared as a guest. But things quickly got uncomfortable when Yeni Kuti, one of the show’s co-hosts, asked: “When are you moving to the APC?”
Her direct question was: “You’ve had a lot of criticism for the president, now your tune seems to have changed (after visit). So when is your own move? When are you leaving the PDP to join APC?”
Clearly displeased, Sowunmi fired back, “Although I cannot see who is asking those questions, I didn’t come to your programme so you can try to be cheeky with me, stop that.”
