The decision, approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, follows public outcry and concerns surrounding the reactivation of the digital application process for obtaining the permit.
The Force emphasised that the extension aims to accommodate adjustments and improvements in the system to make it more secure, accessible, and user-friendly for all Nigerians.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja and shared on the NPF’s Facebook page on Saturday.
According to the statement, the move reflects the Force’s commitment to citizen-centered policing and transparent service delivery.
