In a statement issued on Monday, June 16, the party’s acting National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, described the attacks as “a fresh wave of senseless killings” and called for a thorough investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators, no matter their background or status.
“These victims were not just statistics. They were human beings, innocent lives violently cut short.
“Children who deserved protection were butchered. Mothers who should be nurturing families were buried in mass graves. Fathers defending their homes were mercilessly slain,” Usman said.
She expressed deep concern over the scale of the violence, lamenting the killings of more than 100 people, including women, children, security personnel, and displaced persons, as well as the destruction of homes and livelihoods.
