The Sokoto State Government has restated its commitment to ending insecurity through peaceful means, announcing its readiness to engage in dialogue with armed groups willing to surrender and reintegrate into society.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Security to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, Col. Ahmed Usman (rtd), and made available to journalists on Tuesday.
The state government stressed that meaningful negotiation, rather than sustained military action, could play a decisive role in resolving long-standing insecurity in parts of Sokoto and the wider North-West.
