The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has explained that the decision to debate the emergency rule declared by President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State, behind closed doors, conforms with the rules of the Upper Chamber.
Papers News reports that Adaramodu gave the explanation on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, while briefing journalists on the midterm activities of the 10th Senate.
Recall that critics had accused the Red Chamber of secretly voting in support of the Rivers emergency rule instead of giving such approval at open plenary after open voting.
