Speaking on Thursday, the 3rd of July, 2025, during a rally organized by the Cross River Southern Consultative Forum, Otu told a crowd of elders, APC leaders, and supporters that his administration has shut down all 16 known criminal camps across the state, especially those operating in the creeks.
The event also served as a platform to endorse him and President Bola Tinubu for a second term.
“Our war against criminals has gained momentum. We have dismantled over 16 miscreant camps. This has paved the way for peace and safety in the state. The onslaught will continue. We’re giving the bad elements a second chance through our amnesty and reintegration programme.”
He emphasized his government’s commitment to development that puts people first, noting that those who lay down arms will benefit from the amnesty offer.
