President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima led the Nigerian delegation to the final rites on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, joining sympathisers to pay their last respects to the late former leader.
Also present were President Mahamat Déby of Chad, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau, and Niger Republic’s Prime Minister, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, reflecting Buhari’s influence beyond Nigeria’s borders.
Other attendees included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, serving and former state governors, ex-ministers, top politicians, and traditional leaders.
The funeral prayer was held at the helipad area in Daura and was led by the Chief Imam of Daura, Sheikh Salisu Rabiu.
