The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced the suspension of the commissioning ceremony of the 102 ultra-modern buses acquired for the state’s newly rebranded Edoline Mass Transit Scheme, following the death of the immediate former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
Papers News reports that the Edoline bus launch event was initially slated for this week. However, it has been postponed as a mark of respect and national mourning.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on Monday, July 14, 2025, Governor Okpebholo described the former president as a towering figure in Nigeria’s democratic journey, whose contributions to governance must be honoured with dignity and solemnity.
