Speaking at the launch of the 87th ECHAlliance Ecosystem and Health Ecosystem gathering in Abuja, the group’s Communications Director, Mr. Andy Bleaden, emphasised that cancer is a global challenge requiring united efforts beyond borders.
According to Bleaden, the event themed “Connecting the Dots – Innovation and Cancer Care”, was aimed at building an ecosystem of diverse stakeholders, including cancer patients and survivors, health experts, researchers, insurers, banks, and policymakers. He praised Nigeria’s proactive public health campaigns, describing them as more impactful than those seen in the UK and US.
“What happens here in Nigeria is very different. There’s a strong ability to use public health campaigns that are having a real impact, especially in creating awareness for early cancer screening,” he said.
