Speaking in a live interview on Arise TV on Monday, Okonkwo, who served as the spokesperson for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election aligned himself with the position of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), emphasizing that the party is committed to a single term presidency and open internal democracy.
“The only way to make a disruptive change is to bring a northerner and disrupt Tinubu’s regime,” Okonkwo stated, adding that the ADC has unanimously agreed on a four-year term for the next president.

He also reaffirmed the party’s stance on conducting a transparent and inclusive primary process. “ADC’s position is clear: there will be a free and fair primary election where everybody is free to contest,” he noted.
