The motion for adjournment was introduced by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and received unanimous backing from the chamber.
In a brief address before the gavel came down, Senate President Godswill Akpabio called on senators to utilize the recess period for “intensive oversight functions” across ministries, departments, and agencies.
Each committee, he emphasized, will be required to submit a comprehensive report detailing its oversight activities when sessions resume.
