For months, the National Assembly has been embroiled in bickering and palpable tension, over the passage of the Electoral Act 2022 (Repeal and Reenactment) Bill 2025. Many looked forward to the swift passage of the crucial Bill, because of its potential to rectify most of the imperfections in the old Electoral law, including the central issue of electronic transmission of results from polling units to the IREV portal in real time.
