Lagos Governor Supports 600 Military Widows, 20 Veterans with Relief Items

The distribution took place on Tuesday at the Multi-Agency Office Complex Hall in Oshodi during the Lagos Legion Day celebration. Recipients received bags of rice, educational supplies, and cash grants.


Members of the Widows of Military Fallen Heroes Association and the Military Widows Association thanked the Nigerian Legion for facilitating the governor’s assistance. Physically challenged and elderly ex-servicemen also praised the Lagos Legion Council Chairman, Mr Akeem Wolimoh, for ensuring everyone was included in the distribution.


Lt-Gen Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, represented by Brig-Gen Edet Effiong, Director of Veteran Health, Nigerian Army, encouraged retired military personnel to stay physically active to maintain healthy circulation and prevent age-related joint problems. He recommended they utilize the Defence Health Maintenance Limited (DHML) for healthcare access for themselves and their families.
