Obasanjo Foundation Targets 10,000 Free Healthcare Recipients Across Lagos to Mark Ex-President’s 89th Birthday
The initiative, organized by the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation (OOF), will run from February 27 to March 4, 2026, spanning two major local government areas — Ikorodu and Alimosho. Obasanjo, born on March 5, 1937, turns 89 next week.
According to the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Olalekan Makinde, the outreach is designed as a “legacy-driven humanitarian initiative” that reflects the former president’s lifelong dedication to public service and the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
Services available entirely free of charge include ear care and hearing aids, eye screenings and prescription glasses, cardiovascular checks, general medical consultations, diagnostic services, and distribution of essential medications. Residents with vision or hearing impairments may also be referred or sponsored for corrective surgeries.
