The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms and Minister of State for Finance-designate, Taiwo Oyedele, disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Oyedele, an additional 13 states have already submitted the proposed legislation to their respective state assemblies for consideration, while several others are at various stages of implementing the reform measures.
Oyedele noted that the tax harmonisation law seeks to eliminate multiple and nuisance taxes while preventing the harassment of citizens by tax collectors operating under different authorities.
