2027 Elections: Ahmadu Fintiri Says Northern Aspirants Should Step Aside in Presidential Race

Speaking on Sunrise Daily on Channels Television on Tuesday, the Adamawa State governor maintained that although the constitution allows any qualified Nigerian to contest, fairness and national unity demand that the South retains the office for now.

“There is no business of anybody in the North concerning the presidency at this time. It is the turn of the South. If we are serious about building a united country, they should be allowed to complete their eight years so that we can all see ourselves as our brother’s keeper,” he said.

According to him, backing Tinubu’s second term bid would ensure policy continuity and national stability. He praised the president’s reforms, saying they are beginning to yield positive results and provide hope for the country.
