The Airport Manager, Mr Ahmed Danjuma, revealed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja.
Danjuma explained that the traffic congestion recorded on Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday at the airport toll gate followed the full rollout of the Federal Government’s cashless toll initiative across the country.
Although registration for the FAAN-issued cards began in August 2025, he noted that many airport users delayed compliance despite several awareness campaigns by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
