APC will emerge stronger after convention — National Secretary

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ajibola Basiru, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will emerge stronger after its forthcoming national convention.
Mr Basiru dismissed opposition predictions of an imminent internal crisis within the party as wishful thinking, insisting that there is no indication of division or instability in the APC.
He said the outcome of the convention would surprise opposition parties, stressing that their expectations of a collapse within the ruling party would not materialise.
Mr Basiru made the remarks while speaking with The Punch on Sunday.
“We’re organised and united, and as we always tell the evil wishers, there will be no implosion before or after our convention and primaries.
“Our primaries will be organised in a fair and transparent way to ensure accountability. We will shock the opposition.
“I will urge the opposition not to participate in the elections if what they are waiting for or banking on is a wishful implosion in our party that will never happen. They do not need to wait for the death of a platform for their survival,” he said.
