The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has felicitated with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the occasion of his 89th birthday, praising his lifelong service and dedication to Nigeria.
In a goodwill message shared via his official X handle on Thursday, Atiku described his former boss as a statesman whose life is defined by “service, courage, and an enduring commitment to Nigeria”.
He praised Obasanjo’s significant contributions to the unity and progress of the country, noting that his leadership remains impactful across generations.
“His life stands as a testament to leadership and devotion to the Nigerian project. I pray that God continues to bless him with good health, strength, and many more years of impactful service to our nation and humanity,” Atiku wrote.
He added that, on behalf of his family, he felicitates warmly with his former boss and a statesman whose life reflects “the strength and beauty of Nigeria’s diversity.”
