Nigerian Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy, has paid a courtesy visit to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, at the Government House.
Photos circulating online show the music star, dressed in a dark blue kaftan, standing alongside the governor during the visit.
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, was accompanied by his father, Samuel Ogulu, and music executive, Soso Soberekon. The purpose of the visit was not disclosed.
This is not the first time the award-winning artiste has been received by a state governor. In 2021, he visited the Government House in Port Harcourt during the administration of former governor, Nyesom Wike.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy has confirmed reports about his religious beliefs following recent social media speculation.
The conversation began after Nigerian socialite, Rahman Jago, shared a video of the singer on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), where he was heard saying “Alhamdulillah,” an Arabic phrase meaning “Praise be to God.”
The clip sparked debate among fans, with some suggesting the frequent use of Islamic expressions indicated a possible conversion.
Burna Boy later confirmed during a livestream with Plaueboymax that he had embraced Islam, a revelation that has continued to draw mixed reactions from fans and the public.
