Popular comedian, skit maker, and social media influencer, Samuel Perry, known professionally as Broda Shaggy, has been hospitalised after reportedly being shot in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
According to sources, the incident occurred under the Sango-Ota bridge on Sunday afternoon. While details remain unclear, a police source said Broda Shaggy sustained a gunshot wound while filming a comedy skit at the location.
He was immediately taken to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, Lagos State, where he received initial treatment. Subsequently, he was referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently recovering.
A spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the hospital alerted authorities about a gunshot victim. She stated that detectives and a patrol team responded to the scene and found Broda Shaggy with a thigh injury. “The incident occurred in Sango-Ota, outside our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command noted that the incident had not yet been reported within their jurisdiction. Broda Shaggy’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, also known as Penzaar, could not be reached for comment.
This comes in the wake of similar incidents in the past, including the October 2024 shooting of content creator Afeez Ojesanmi, popularly known as Salo, around the Lekki area of Lagos State.
