CSP Aliyu Giwa Replaces Hundeyin as New Force Public Relations Officer
Giwa’s appointment comes as part of ongoing restructuring within the police leadership following the recent inauguration of Olatunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police. Benjamin Hundeyin was relieved of his duties as the Force spokesman barely six months after assuming the position.
Before his new role, Giwa served as a cybersecurity specialist at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, a position he had held since February 2025. He also previously worked as the Assistant Force Public Relations Officer at the Police Public Relations Department Annex in Obalende, Lagos, between February 2017 and March 2022.
Giwa’s emergence follows the removal of Hundeyin as part of leadership adjustments within the force after the appointment of the new police chief. Although no official reason was given for Hundeyin’s redeployment, insiders say such changes are common when a new Inspector-General assumes office.
