Gospel Singer Busola Oke Reveals Depression Battle and Financial Struggles
The singer, known for the hit Eleyele, opened up during a candid interview with actress Biola Adebayo, following a raw and emotional TikTok live session that left fans worried about her wellbeing.
Oke explained that what drove her to go live on TikTok was something painfully simple — hunger. Behind the polished image she had maintained for years was a woman quietly falling apart. “I have been putting up a charade. I have been pretending to be fine. I am not fine,” she admitted, saying she just needed her fans to remind her she was not alone.
Financially, the cracks run deep. Last September, she was unable to pay her ₦1 million rent because she could barely afford food. A junior colleague offered her ₦500,000 to help, but with the amount falling short of the full rent, she used it instead for basic survival.
