Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo, has addressed a viral video of a man who looks like him criticising President Bola Tinubu over the economic hardship in the nation.
Papers News understands that a clip of a man with an uncanny resemblance to Dokubo, sharing his physical features, recently made the rounds on social media.
The man urged Tinubu to step down over the pervasive hunger in the land.
He lamented the rising cost of petrol and other items, adding that Nigerians cannot continue living in this manner.
Several social media users concluded that the personality in the video is Dokubo, a sworn ally and supporter of the president.
However, in a clip shared on social media, Dokubo stated that the man in the video is his brother, not him.
The Niger Delta activist said persons insisting he is the one in the video are those who hate him.
Dokubo said the figure in the footage is his “brother from Bayelsa state”.
“I’m not the one in the video. He is my brother, Theophilus. He is from Bayelsa state, and I’m from Rivers state. He is from Nembe, while I’m from Kalabari.
“But we are brothers. Very good, brothers. Don’t mistake me for him,” he said.
He reiterated that Tinubu remains his friend, adding that the president should be allowed to complete his second term.
