Ajetunmobi attributed the controversy to a misreading of the approved budget figures. He clarified that the total capital allocation for the Deputy Governor’s office stands at N4,247,816,006 — and that the overwhelming bulk of it, some N4,077,816,006, is earmarked for the reconstruction of the Round House complex, a six-story building housing over 50 offices. The project encompasses structural upgrades, retrofitting works, and alternative energy infrastructure.
Only N170 million of the total allocation, he said, is designated for office equipment, furniture, fittings, and related capital items — a far cry from the figures that had been making the rounds online.
