The Lagos Waste Management Authority has announced that it sustained enforcement operations across major parts of the state to curb illegal waste activities.
In a post was shared by the Lagos State Government on its X (formerly Twitter) page on Tuesday, the agency said part of the operations was carried out on March 22, 2026.
“LAWMA Waste Surveillance, Investigation & Enforcement standby team sustained its zero-tolerance operations across major parts of Lagos on March 22, 2026,” it said.
The agency disclosed that enforcement was carried out in Ketu-Alapere.
“Operatives carried out monitoring and enforcement operations within Ketu-Alapere inner streets, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, where wheelbarrows used for unauthorised waste disposal were confiscated,” it added.
It added that surveillance was maintained in other locations, saying, “Simultaneously, the team maintained vigilance across previously eradicated black spots along Ikorodu Road—covering Owode Elede median, Owode Onirin median, Mile 12 flyover bridge perimeter, and the Y-junction verges, opposite the LAMATA bus yard, Ikosi-Ketu, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.”
According to LAWMA, the operations are part of ongoing sanitation efforts.
“These sustained actions reinforce LAWMA’s commitment to preserving a cleaner, healthier Lagos. Compliance remains mandatory,” it said.
