Multiple Soldiers Killed in Fresh Terrorist Attack In Kebbi

Several soldiers are feared dead following a fresh terrorist attack in the Girinmasa area of Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The incident was disclosed by security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday. According to him, suspected Lakurawa fighters carried out the assault on troops stationed in the area, leading to casualties among the military personnel.

In his post, he stated that multiple soldiers lost their lives during the attack and offered prayers for the fallen troops, while calling for an end to the ongoing insecurity.

As of the time of this report, the military has yet to release an official statement confirming the incident or providing details.

Meanwhile, a similar attack was recorded in Niger State, where at least eight people were killed after suspected terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device along Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area.

The attackers also destroyed a key bridge connecting the Luma–Babana–Agwara communities, severing a major route frequently used by residents traveling to the Babana border market, a weekly hub for trade.

The destruction has left many residents stranded and significantly disrupted economic activities in the affected communities. Reports indicate that additional explosive devices were set off in nearby areas, forcing residents to flee for safety.

A local source revealed that the attacks occurred in the early hours of Monday, with the bridge explosion happening around 5 a.m.
