Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has declared that the country’s ongoing military offensive against Iran is far from over, warning that Israeli operations were continuing to weaken Iran’s clerical leadership.
The Israeli leader made the remarks during a visit to the National Health Command Centre on Monday night, where he reaffirmed his government’s resolve to press ahead with the offensive.
“Our aspiration is to bring the Iranian people to cast off the yoke of tyranny; ultimately, it depends on them. But there is no doubt that with the actions taken so far, we are breaking their bones, and we are not done yet,” Netanyahu said.
The warning comes as the conflict in the Middle East entered its 11th day, with both sides escalating military actions across the region.
Meanwhile, Iran intensified its attacks on Tuesday, targeting several Gulf Arab countries as tensions continued to rise across the region.
Incoming missile sirens were heard early Tuesday morning in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and in Bahrain.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia said their defence systems destroyed two drones over the country’s oil-rich eastern region.
Similarly, the Kuwait National Guard confirmed that it had shot down six drones.
Iran has also been firing missiles and drones at Israel and American military bases across the Middle East while targeting key energy infrastructure in the region.
The Israeli military, on the other hand, said on Tuesday that it had launched a new wave of airstrikes on Tehran, the Iranian capital.
In a brief statement, the military said the strikes were part of ongoing operations targeting Iran’s military infrastructure.
“The IDF has begun a wave of strikes against Iranian terror regime targets in Tehran,” the army said.
According to the military, Israeli forces struck several strategic locations overnight.
Among the targets was an underground complex reportedly used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for missile testing at what the Israeli military described as a “military university.”
The army added that Israeli fighter jets also attacked infrastructure at the main headquarters of the Guards’ elite Quds Force.
