Former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senator, Philip Tanimu Aduda, has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent internal challenges within the party.
In a resignation letter dated March 17, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Karu Ward in Abuja, Aduda announced that his decision takes immediate effect.
The former lawmaker, who represented the FCT in the Senate from 2011 to 2023, explained that the ongoing crisis within the party influenced his decision to step down from its membership.
Despite his exit, Aduda expressed appreciation to the PDP for the platform it provided him to serve in various elective positions across the country. He noted that he values the opportunities he had while serving under the party’s banner.
Aduda, who was a member of the 7th, 8th, and 9th National Assembly, formally signed the resignation letter. A handwritten note on the document indicates that the Karu Ward PDP Chairman acknowledged receipt of the original copy on the same day.
In the letter, he stated:
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the PDP with immediate effect due to the crisis in the party.
“I remain grateful for the opportunity the party gave me to serve in various elective positions in our nation. Please accept the assurances of my high esteem.”
