Top political leaders and influential figures gathered on Sunday to honour the late Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, during her funeral prayers.
Among those present was former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who shared his condolences in a message posted on his social media platforms. He said he joined family members, friends, and associates of the El-Rufai family at the Janazah, describing the deceased as the matriarch of the family.
Atiku prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, asking God to grant the late Hajiya Umma eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
The solemn event also drew several high-profile attendees, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum.
Others in attendance were Niger State Governor Abdullahi Bago, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote.
Also present were Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Minister Isa Pantami, alongside several other dignitaries who came to pay their last respects.
