Singer Skales Confronts Bashir Ahmad Over Response to Jos Attack, Labels Him Terrorist Sympathizer
Nigerian music artist Skales has launched a fierce verbal attack on former Presidential aide Bashir Ahmad, calling him a “fool” and accusing him of sympathizing with terrorists following the deadly Palm Sunday massacre in Jos.
The confrontation was triggered after Bashir Ahmad took to social media to demand that security authorities investigate and arrest American missionary Alex Babir, who had publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s handling of the Jos attack — an incident that claimed at least 25 lives.
In his post, Bashir warned against foreign nationals he accused of attempting to destabilize Nigeria, arguing that such individuals would face no personal consequences if the country descended into turmoil, and called on Nigeria to take a firm, uncompromising stance against anyone seeking to incite unrest.
Skales, however, was having none of it. In a blunt and emotional response, the singer directed his anger at both Bashir and the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, holding them responsible for the deteriorating security situation in the country. He argued that the terrorist crisis had worsened under their watch and that Bashir’s focus on silencing a foreign critic — rather than mourning the victims — exposed his true priorities.
The singer did not mince words, expressing deep frustration over the ongoing suffering of ordinary Nigerians and questioning why accountability has been absent from those who held power during the period when insecurity escalated significantly.
The exchange has reignited public debate about Nigeria’s security failures and the responsibility of former government officials in addressing the country’s worsening crisis.
