‘State Police Will Grant Them Power To Kill Opponents’ – Islamic Cleric Warns Tinubu
A prominent Plateau State-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has strongly condemned plans by the Federal Government to establish state police, warning that such a move could worsen insecurity and fuel political persecution.
Papers News reports that Jingir’s comments come days after President Bola Tinubu urged the National Assembly to consider amending the Constitution to allow for the creation of state police as part of efforts to tackle escalating insecurity across the country.
