President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu have arrived back in Nigeria after concluding an official visit to the United Kingdom.
The President is expected to spend the forthcoming Sallah holiday in Lagos, taking a short break before resuming his official responsibilities.
Tinubu departed London on Thursday night after a two-day state visit hosted by the British royal family. He had earlier left Abuja on March 17 at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
During the visit, the Nigerian leader and his delegation were received at Windsor Castle, where they stayed from March 18 to March 19. The trip marked the first state visit by a Nigerian president to the UK in 37 years and the first time a Nigerian leader has been hosted at Windsor Castle by the British monarch.
Both countries used the visit to deepen long-standing diplomatic relations, with discussions centred on trade, investment, immigration, and cultural cooperation.
While at the castle, Tinubu and the First Lady were shown a curated exhibition from the Royal Collection highlighting historical ties with Nigeria. The President also held private talks with King Charles and met with organisations focused on interfaith dialogue.
A state banquet was organised in honour of the Nigerian delegation.
Tinubu also held a bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street. The meeting resulted in expanded cooperation between both countries, with several agreements signed covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural exchange.
