VIDEO: ‘You Threatened Me’ – Ohiri Accuses Lawyer Of Forcing Her To Apologise To Umahi

A businesswoman Tracy Ohiri has accused human rights lawyer Marshall Abubakar of threatening and deceiving her into apologizing to the Minister of Works David Umahi.

Papers News reports that she made the allegations in a viral video on Thursday night.

Recall that the dispute began when Ohiri accused Senator Umahi of owning her for goods supplied over a decade ago. This sparked a massive online movement led by various activists and bloggers. However, Nigerians were taken by surprise when a video surfaced of Ohiri offering a “closed-door” apology to the Minister. This led to widespread rumors of a N100 million settlement.

Clarifying what transpired, Ohiri said she was asked to make the video apologising to Umahi, with the promise of getting her full payment before the video is released.

She called on the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) led by Afam Osigwe to probe the activities of Abubakar.

She said: “Barrister Marshall, where is my money? Barrister Marshall, where is my payment? You gave me a script, Marshall. You forced me to do this video. Every time you keep threatening me that if I do not do this video, you will take your hands off the case.

“You said the person told you he’s not willing to pay me and compensate me for even arresting me and body-shaming me in public. Well, he said he’s not someone that is looking anyhow. Marshall, where is my money? If you want me to ruin my personality and integrity, is it for $70,000? Marshall, please, where is my payment? You threatened me that you’ll go all out, you’ll come for me, you’ll do this to me, you’ll do that to me.

“You will ensure I’m locked up. That is what you, Marshall, said. Marshall, where is my payment? Marshall, where is my money? Marshall, how did you release the video without me collecting my money? I gave you my videos in confidence.

“You said I should trust you and release my video to you. I gave you my video. You told me that I will receive my payment before you release the video. 

“Marshall, where is my money? Where is my payment? You cannot use me. You cannot use me, Marshall. You have no integrity. 

“You cannot use me. You cannot use me. Where is my money? Marshall, is this the agreement? Marshall, is this the agreement? Every time I disagree with Marshall, I want to speak to my lawyers in Lagos. Marshall said no. I want to talk to Nigerians. Marshall said no. I have to discuss with my… Marshall said no. Let me talk to Sowore. Marshall said no. That if anybody hears about it, he will pull out his hand. Marshall, what was your interest? What was your real motive, Marshall? Marshall, I need my payment. You have ruined my name, my integrity.

“You have messed me up. Now, you’re threatening my life. Marshall, please. 

“I need my payment. Nigerian Bar Association, please, with all due respect, please, sir, look into this case. This is so unethical. 

“How can Marshall release my video against the agreement we had without me receiving my payment? How can Marshall accept payment without calling me to tell me? Out of the 305 million, look at how much they gave you. Marshall collected all money without calling me. Marshall, give me my money. 

“Marshall, give me my payment. Marshall, you forced me to do this video. Marshall, you made sure I did not speak to anybody.

“Marshall, you made sure I did not talk to anybody. You kept on threatening me, Marshall. Give me my money. 

“Marshall, I need my money. Barrister Femi Falana, Marshall sings your praises and integrity, said he trained under you. Please, sir, you are like a father to me. Tell Marshall to go and get me my money. Tell Marshall to release my money. There is something going on in Nigeria people have not yet realized.

“There are genuine activists in this country, but there are worse. There are genuine lawyers in this country, but there are worse. Any time any Nigerian has an issue, has a problem, they want to take advantage of it.

“What they are calculating is not how to serve you. What they are calculating is how much to make on your head. Marshall, give me my money.

“While I hold back the ones.. When it is necessary, I will release. Thank you.”
