The Former Governors’ Forum (FGF) has congratulated Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Ogun State and current Senator representing Ogun East, on reaching the milestone of 70 years. The Forum hailed him as a respected political leader, accomplished businessman, and elder statesman.

In a statement signed by the Forum’s chairman and former Niger State governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Daniel was praised for his decades-long record of integrity, entrepreneurship, and public service. Aliyu joined “well-wishers across Nigeria” in marking the occasion.

“Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s life reflects a remarkable journey of leadership,” Aliyu said. “Long before entering politics, he built a strong reputation through entrepreneurship and commercial engagements that laid the foundation for greater achievements.”

The statement also highlighted Daniel’s successful political career at both state and national levels, noting his enduring influence in Ogun State politics and his mentorship of numerous political figures.

“Many have gone on to successful political careers with his support, and he continues to guide and assist his people,” Aliyu added.

Reflecting on Daniel’s tenure as governor, Aliyu said his leadership contributed meaningfully to national peace, progress, and stability. He also commended Daniel’s ongoing role in the Former Governors’ Forum as Deputy National Chairman.

“As you celebrate 70 years, may your days continue to be filled with joy, happiness, and peace. Congratulations!” the statement concluded.
