‘I Listen To What ‘Enemies’ Say About Me’ – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said he keeps a close watch on media reports, noting that he personally monitors what those he described as his “enemies” say about him.

Wike said he follows prime-time news on major Nigerian television stations, including Africa Independent Television, TVC News and Channels Television.

The minister disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Abuja, explaining that he prefers to get information firsthand rather than rely on aides or third parties for updates on public discussions surrounding him.

“I watch news all the time, AIT News, I will watch, TVC News, Channels, I watch all of them,” he said.

Wike said he deliberately monitors broadcasts himself so he can stay fully informed about comments made against him.

“I don’t wait for anyone to come and tell me what my enemies are saying about me, I hear it by myself,” he added.

According to him, the routine helps him remain up to date with developments and public commentary.

The FCT minister added that his media monitoring habit often stretches late into the night. He said he sometimes returns to watch broadcasts around midnight before going to bed.

Wike added, “So you can see that I know the time, even by 12 I still come back to watch everything, I make sure that I watch before I go and sleep.”
