Kebbi Assembly Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru Dies in Egypt After Illness

The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, has died in a hospital in Egypt, where he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.
Zuru passed away on Monday night following a period of ill health, according to sources close to the Kebbi State Government. However, details surrounding the ailment that led to his death have not yet been made public.
The late lawmaker, who represented Zuru Constituency, was known as an experienced legislator and a prominent figure within the state’s legislative arm.
Reacting to the development, the Governor’s aide on Communication and Strategy, Idris Zuru, described the Speaker’s death as a devastating loss.
“The passing of Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru came as a rude shock. It is a painful loss not only to Kebbi State but to the nation as a whole,” he said.
He noted that more information would be released soon, adding that the state government would issue an official statement and announce burial arrangements in consultation with the family.
Further details regarding funeral plans are expected from both the family and the state government.
