Trump orders U.S. Navy to block Strait of Hormuz

President Trump has ordered a full US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz after peace talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program failed in Pakistan.

In a post on TruthSocial, the US President stated that the United States Navy will immediately begin the process of blockading all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz.

He added that the Navy has been instructed to seek out and interdict any vessel in international waters that has paid a toll to Iran, while also initiating operations to destroy mines allegedly laid by Iranian forces in the strait.

Trump further warned that any Iranian who opens fire on US forces or on what he described as peaceful vessels would “be blown to hell.”

The post comes after no deal was reached in Islamabad after over 20 hours of negotiations between the Iranian and US delegations, mediated by Pakistan.
