The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed as fake a viral circulating image claiming to show a newly introduced N5,000 banknote with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s photograph.
The image was shared by social media users saying the CBN had released a sample of a N5,000 note featuring President Tinubu.
However, the apex bank debunked the report in a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
It stated: “This content is fake.
“Let the public be guided.”
