2027: APC postpones House of Reps primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 general election.

The Eagle Online recalls that the primaries from where the candidates of the party are to emerge was initially fixed for May 15, 2026.

The party has now moved the primaries forward by a day to May 16, 2026.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, confirmed the shift in date in a statement he issued to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

Morka said: “Previously announced dates for Senate, State Assembly, governorship and presidential primaries remain unchanged.”

He said the revised timetable would proceed as follows:
House of Representatives — Saturday, May 16.

Senate — Monday, May 18.

State House of Assembly — Wednesday, May 20.

Governorship — Thursday, May 21.

Presidential — Saturday, May 23, 2026.
