Julius Ihonvbere, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Owan Federal Constituency in Edo State.
On Saturday, like it did across the country, the APC organised the primary election for Owan Federal Constituency of Edo State.
The result of the primary election was announced by Kelvin Muhammed, the Presiding Officer at the Afuze office of the party.
Announcing the result in a video published by NTA Uzairue, Muhammed said the primary election was contested by five aspirants.
The Presiding Officer said Andrew Ijegbia, a former Edo State Commissioner of Mining, won the election after he polled 3,695 votes.
He said: “The scores are as follows: Honourable Andrew Ijegbia scored 3,695 votes; Honourable Abdul Oroh scored 1,740 votes; while Professor Julius Ihonvbere scored 1,005 votes; Honourable Folly scored 505 votes. Barrister Scot scored 642 votes.
“The total vote cast is 7,587.”
