Kano Govt Approves ₦20,000 Eid Bonus for Civil Servants

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a ₦20,000 Eid-el-Kabir welfare package for civil servants across the state as part of efforts to support workers ahead of the festive period.
The benefit will cover employees in the state civil service as well as workers in all 44 local government areas.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano by the Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko-Muhammad.
According to the statement, the initiative is designed to ease financial pressure on workers as they prepare for Eid celebrations. It added that the payment applies to civil servants from Grade Levels 01 to 14 across ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils.
The gesture comes shortly after the payment of May salaries to both state and local government workers.
Governor Yusuf said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to prioritising workers’ welfare, describing civil servants as the backbone of governance in Kano State.
He noted that the decision was influenced by current economic conditions and the increased financial demands typically associated with festive seasons.
The governor added that the support is expected to help workers celebrate Eid with greater comfort and renewed hope alongside their families.
He reaffirmed his administration’s focus on people-centred policies aimed at improving welfare, boosting productivity, and strengthening public service delivery.
Yusuf also extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to workers and residents of the state, praying for peace, unity, and continued prosperity in Kano and Nigeria as a whole.
