Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the appointment of Abayomi Fagbenro as the new Special Adviser on Security.
The governor also appointed Prince Arowosaye Adeyemi as Chairman of the Board of the Pacesetter Mineral Development Company.
The appointments were conveyed through separate letters signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Before his appointment, Fagbenro worked with the Department of Defence, Army Network Enterprise Centre in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, United States, between October 2007 and August 2012. During his stay in the US, he underwent military training in Great Lakes, Illinois, and Chicago.
He later studied at East Coast Polytechnic Institute and obtained a degree in Information Systems from Strayer University.
Adeyemi, on the other hand, studied Political Science at the University of Abuja, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He previously served as caretaker committee chairman and later executive chairman of Oyo East Local Government.
Governor Makinde congratulated both appointees and urged them to see their appointments as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development and service of the state.
The appointments take immediate effect.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu recently appointed Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa (retd.) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s internal security framework.
