Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has taken a swipe at Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of reacting with displeasure each time the country records gains under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Bwala, who serves as Special Adviser on Policy Communication and Media to the President, made the remarks in a post on X, questioning why a man seeking to govern Nigeria would consistently respond negatively to the country’s progress.
The presidential aide further alleged that Obi has made a series of policy reversals, arguing that the former Anambra governor had publicly endorsed several key reforms before the 2023 elections — only to oppose them after the Tinubu administration implemented them.
“Before 2023 elections, he said he will remove subsidy; we did and now he says he will not. He said he will create state police; we did, he is saying he will not. He said he will unify the foreign exchange; we did and now he is saying he will not,” Bwala wrote.
He added that Obi’s shifting positions raised serious questions about his vision for the country, saying it appeared the opposition candidate had no clear plan for Nigeria.
