Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, for declining to provide specific details on how he would address Nigeria’s electricity and security challenges if elected president.
Amusa made the remarks on social media after watching Obi’s recent interview with broadcaster Rufai Oseni. During the interview, the former Anambra State governor was asked to explain how he planned to implement some of his campaign promises but chose not to reveal detailed strategies.
Reacting to the interview, the actress argued that anyone seeking the nation’s highest office should be prepared to explain not only their plans but also the methods for achieving them.
According to her, it is not enough for political leaders to criticize existing government policies without presenting practical alternatives. She maintained that presidential candidates have a responsibility to clearly outline their proposals and how they intend to execute them.
Amusa also questioned Obi’s decision to keep aspects of his agenda undisclosed, insisting that Nigerians deserve to know the plans of those seeking their votes.
In a post on X, she stated that leaders should be able to explain what they would do differently and how they would achieve their goals. She added that candidates cannot continue to fault government policies without offering solutions, stressing that voters need transparency before making electoral decisions.
The actress further described Obi’s interview with Rufai Oseni as uninspiring, saying she expected more concrete answers from a presidential hopeful.
