VFD Group Plc has appointed Mr. Azeez Adetayo, FCA, as its Acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following a leadership transition within the company’s finance department.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was disclosed in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and communicated to shareholders and the investing public.
According to VFD Group, the appointment follows the transition of the company’s substantive Chief Financial Officer and is intended to ensure continuity in financial leadership while maintaining effective oversight of the group’s finance function.
Prior to his appointment, Adetayo served as Financial Controller (Senior Finance Manager), where he played a key role in managing the company’s financial operations.
He brings more than 10 years of experience across financial management, corporate reporting, investment management, treasury operations, sustainability reporting, internal controls and strategic finance.
The company said Adetayo has successfully led finance transformation initiatives, strengthened financial control frameworks and supported business expansion efforts across multiple sectors.
His professional background includes experience in financial strategy, capital management, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance and stakeholder reporting.
VFD Group also highlighted his tenure at Deloitte Nigeria as part of the expertise that has shaped his career in finance and corporate governance.
In the regulatory filing, the company expressed confidence in Adetayo’s ability to lead the finance team during the transition period and contribute to the execution of its long-term strategic objectives.
“The Company is confident that Mr. Adetayo’s experience and leadership will further strengthen the finance function and support the execution of VFD Group’s strategic objectives,” the statement read.
The appointment underscores VFD Group’s commitment to maintaining strong corporate governance and ensuring continuity in key leadership positions as it pursues growth across its diversified investment portfolio.
