Canada-Based Wife Demands Husband’s Public Fidelity Oath Before Sponsoring His Relocation
A Nigerian woman based in Canada has sparked widespread reactions on social media after requiring her husband to publicly pledge his loyalty before supporting his relocation to Canada.
The woman, identified on Facebook as Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, shared several posts explaining why she insisted that her husband make a public declaration of faithfulness on both Facebook and WhatsApp.
According to her, her husband was expected to record a video promising to remain faithful to her if he eventually moved to Canada. She also insisted that the declaration include a solemn oath invoking divine consequences should he engage in infidelity.
In one of her posts, she wrote that her husband must publicly state that if he relocated to Canada and cheated on her, he would face the consequences of his vow, adding that he must also promise to remain a devoted husband and father to their children.
She further claimed that the declaration was necessary before he could obtain a visa to join her in Canada, describing it as a directive from God.
In another post, Ezinne intensified her stance by praying that her husband would face severe consequences if he became sexually involved with anyone other than her after relocating. She maintained that nothing would change her decision or the conditions she had set.
A video later surfaced online showing her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, making the requested declaration.
In the video, Franklin expressed his desire to reunite with his wife and children after three years of living apart. He acknowledged that he wanted to restore peace to their marriage and assured his wife of his commitment.
He publicly vowed that if he ever moved to Canada and was unfaithful to her, he accepted the consequences of the oath he had taken in the name of Jesus Christ.
Franklin also appealed to his wife to forgive any past hurts, promising never to leave or divorce her. He stressed that his priority was his wife and children, saying he was willing to make the public declaration in any format she desired to reassure her of his love and commitment.
The unusual public oath has generated mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating whether the demand reflected trust issues, marital commitment, or excessive control within the relationship.
