The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, has said that he will not make promises he cannot fulfil ahead of the August 15, 2026 election.
Alhaji Oyebamiji made the position known during a political rally at Sabo Market on Thursday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
He assured traders of an inclusive administration, noting that his government would prioritise their welfare and regularly consult them on economic matters.
He said: “I will not make promises I cannot keep.
“My administration will be inclusive, and you will always be consulted on your needs.
“I will not seek your votes and abandon you after the election.
“Our government will belong to everyone.”
The APC candidate promised to facilitate grants for market men and women without repayment, while also strengthening cooperative societies to improve access to funding.
Oyebamiji added that his administration would collaborate with the Federal Government to provide affordable loans and other support for traders.
He said: “No state can thrive without the support of Babaloja, Iyaloja, and traders.
“Your progress is our priority.
“By God’s grace, we will improve education, healthcare and other sectors.
“We will also provide health insurance for traders.”
Oyebamiji urged the electorate to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and resist inducement.
He alleged that some individuals were attempting to buy PVCs indirectly by offering money under the guise of appointments.
He said: “The money they could not provide over the past three years is now being used to deceive the people.
“Do not be deceived.”
Oyebamiji also donated N10 million to party members at the rally.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Wole Oke, urged traders to support the party, expressing confidence in its victory.
Oke said the APC candidate would prioritise the welfare of the people if elected.
